Draft.( Mechanical &
Electrical ,Professional Consulting Engineers, USA Local & Worldwide)
1.
Revised and updated required.
Please note:
Material shown below Not for Construction.
Also, please contact me, or the head office,
Manhattan, New York City, USA prior
Or far ahead of your further actions or
planning.
Thank you so much.
2. Item no. G. S.D.
A). S. D. which are submitted for review should comply
with the requirements of the specifications.
B). we should only review those shop drawings which were
requested to be submitted for review.
C).All others that are submitted should be “returned
Without Action” stating that they were not requested and therefore not
reviewed.
D). No action should be taken on shop drawings which
were not requested. See “S. L. A”.
E).The name of the project, the specification reference,
the stamp of the Architects and the construction manager or general contractor,
all must be included on the submission.
F). If this information is not included, then the Shop
Drawings should be returned for non-compliance indicating what information is
lacking.
G). The Architect should be made aware of our
requirements so that proper procedure is established during the early
submission.
H). In addition to the above requirements, if a Shop
Drawing is larger than
17-1/2” X 11”, it should be submitted in sepia form.
I). this will reduce the time required by our S. D. D.
for marking-up comments on multiple copies.
J).Comments must be clear, concise, and accurate. “Vague
comments?” will only encourage multiple resubmissions which require additional
review time and will cause a reduction in project profitability.
K).Substitutions should not be considered after the
award of the contract. It is contrary to our specifications, requires
additional review time and exposes us to potential liabilities in the event a
problem occurs later on.
L). If our client or owner requests that we consider
substitutes after the contract is awarded, this effort should be considered
“extra services” and proper compensation for the review should be authorized by
the client before we proceed.
M). The PM should refer to EPC D. No. 10 for additional
information.
Our “Special conditions for mechanical and Electrical
Work” requires that the contract submit a list of proposed manufactures and
submission dates within 45 days after award of contract.
N). the attached “S. L. B” should be sent to the
Architect by the PM once the project has been awarded.
O). A letter should also be sent to the Architect for S.
D. that are rejected, held in our office for more than 10 working days or for
other reasons as indicated on the Sample Letter A.
P). following the sample letters is: N/A.
