Tomorrow, August 8^th. 2014, Fathers’ day!

Be happy all fathers, not easy to be a good father, but tried to be a nice father.

Key for the father’s day.

I.                   Ralph Waldo Emerson said:

What in my mind today.

1.      My father, F.R. Chen, he always a good father for me.

2.      My father sent me to the TFJH in year 1949, via his wonderful works and relationships with the school teachers in the elementary I attended since 1953-1959.

3.      My father was a Gm of county famers Associates, which owned by local government.

4.      My father was the head of local council for the country people and work for the benefits for the local residents.

5.      My father a tall handsome man, tall slender and strong. He used to wear Japanese soldier’s costume, he also had Japanese Sword and kept in our home.

6.      My father enjoy the photographs, and photos, beautiful beauties, my father kept the negative films, made by transparency glass, breakable. The heavy breakable negative glass made films, so heavy, so one day, while I was four years old, I can’t handle the heavy glass negatives and dropped to the concrete floor and broken into pieces. I didn’t let my father know, I broke the glass negative films which he kept.

7.      My father want me to attend a Tech. institute while I was 16 years old, my father and my eldest brother insisted I should attend the Tech Institute due saving education cost, and easily find a job, and make money as soon as I graduated from the Tech. Institute. I said NO to my father and my eldest brother.

8.      Later on, I attended TFHS with my own will even my father may not agree with me, but my father didn’t force me to accept and bear his will.

9.      I attended Marine time College, major in Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics. I learned a “lot”, but I learned nothing as I believe.

10.  I stayed in the Central Main library six years continually, I seldom attend the classes in the college I attended. I did not understand what the university teachers or professors taught ne in the textbook.

11.  I studied all details by myself.

12.  In my life, lifetime up to today, I don’t understand the people who are telling me or teaching me with what in their mind, or right from the textbook.

13.  While I was a graduate student in Graduate School, my father wrote later with 15 or more pages to me, I kept this letter and I didn’t open this letter, due at that moment, I had serious finance, no-tuition, no money for daily food etc., while I was in one of the Campus of the University located in USA South.

14.  My father was a landlord owned large farms, but taken by KMT, Taiwan in year 1949-1951. He lost his fortune and lands without compensations, but at that moment, my father had 10 children needed to be educated and raised.

15.  My father got 15 kids, 10 boys and five daughter. I am the 8^th. Son of my father.
